Banks Peninsula

This is a telephoto shot from Godley Head, showing some of the volcanic rocks of Banks Peninsula.  The two major harbours on the peninsula (Akaroa and Lyttelton) are the craters of old volcanoes.

We biked out to Godley Head this morning, before it got too hot.  Then I finished staining the deck, the stump grinder came to tidy up an area where we're intending to erect a shade house, and we cleaned and oiled the bikes.  Hopefully they will now run a bit better than they did this morning.  (We won't get as much exercise, though).
