Macaroni cheese and peas

Macaroni cheese was the first proper meal I could even cook by myself. It was also my absolute favourite meal as a child! So this is not a truly new recipe! However my mum taught me to make a white sauce using cornflour and a microwave and I have never strayed from this way.

But this week I decided to make a white sauce the traditional way; with butter and flour and a pan on the job. This was a complete success and allowed me to cook some garlic through the butter, a lovely addition!

My only complaint is that I didn't make quite enough sauce for the amount of pasta! But a great success and a great addition to my packed lunch the next day!
