Portico....

I think this is the grandest entrance to any building in Manchester. The classically inspired, Corinthian columned portico of Central Library. The building is 72 years old this year having reopened back in 2014 after a massive refurbishment. Because of its style of architecture, based loosely on the Pantheeon temple in Ancient Rome, people think it's much older. It's one of my favourite buildings in the city. Next door in the Town Hall Extension. I took the picture so you can see the Cenotaph in the distance and you don't get to see any of the building works that are still going on, on the other side of St. Peter's Square.
