In Hidden Corners

At this time of year it is necessary to look more closely in hidden corners of the garden to find beauty and life.  Here is a warm coloured fungus hidden away under some overgrowing ivy.

My extra is the sign of coming new life:  2 early visitors to our pond, no doubt looking for a place to build a nest and raise their ducklings.  In other years ducks go between our pond and our next door neighbours' pond so their ducklings have plenty of space.  Sadly, we also see the numbers reduce as some of the predators pick them off.
