The Phoenix Rises

Wanaka tree sunset

We drove from Queenstown to Arrowtown over the hills and far away. It was steep and Arrowtown was a bit of a tourist trap, but it did have a good Jade workshop. We had a late breakfast at the Post house. Avocado toast, pancakes, poached egg on toast with bacon, toasted muesli, homemade peanut butter. It was heaven and we heartily recommend it.

Eventually we headed onwards and stopped at Cardrona to admire the drystone wall that nephew Sandy helped to build. It was a cracker which incorporated a huge boulder or 2. The heart shaped stone was a masterstroke.
We drove past the New Zealand breast cancer charity bra fence, where the driver ( bro) witnessed two young ladies flashing their bras to a camera. We didn't!
Onward to Wanaka and a certain tree. Dinner was at the Trout restaurant and very fine it was too.

The top 10 campsite was a bit basic with a 4 beded bunk room and a sitting room with bed. We were allowed the bed.
Too kind guys.
