Stylish?

A cafe in Stockbridge has had the kind of makeover first seen by me in BrewLab, in Sth College St. It seems to me to be similar to the approach taken to architectural conservation by the NTS at Newhailes: strip it back to the original structure and decor, and leave. In wealthy Stockbridge, it seemed odd to be sitting surrounded by cracked tiles, bare plaster, worn varnish.

But the 'lost Edinburgh' tendency in me appreciates the revealed fish, which remind me of Byzantine mosaics in Jordan.
