SUN DAY TIME

SunDay Time - hope you lichen it !

Sundial on Sinnington Bridge, North Yorkshire UK, situated on the SW pier and made by Richardson of Helmsley in 1769. This is a single span bridge of dressed sandstone with a segmental arch.

A sundial is a device that determines the time of day by the position of the Sun. The sun casts a shadow onto a surface marked with lines indicating the hours of the day. The style is the time-telling edge of the gnomon, a thin rod with a sharp, straight edge.

As the sun moves across the sky, the shadow-edge aligns with different hour-lines.
