Newcastle

MrM drove us down Newcastle today - partly to give Vanessa a flavour of the city but, I think, he had an ulterior motive or two! He wanted to try and find a specific part for an instrument repair which, of course, meant that we visited a music shop (or three!). Unfortunately, he couldn't find what he was looking for, but did try a double bass. (This time I didn't take the hint though!)

Down to the quayside for a view of the bridges and the Sage, and then a wander round by the castle and cathedral before heading to Grainger Market for lunch (and to purchase kippers).

On the way back to the car we called in at a well-known department store to look at a specific video recorder, which MrM would like for recording some of his music. They don't stock it, so he came out empty handed - but I, er, bought a compact Lumix camera - much more convenient for carrying in a handbag than my beloved bridge camera...

Good evening playing scrabble - Vanessa thrashed MrM and I twice!
