Erection

A late trip into Edinburgh to meet up with Mrs Rex allowed me a quick look at the progress of the latest building project to "grace' St Andrew Square. Apparently there was some gnashing of teeth and archtectural wailing at the demolition of the building that stood here originally. It sems that it was a 'B' listed "modernist masterpiece". Perhaps they will say the same about this in 50 years time – I doubt it though. In the meantime building goes on apace and you can see the reflection of Jenners in the new glass façade on South St David Street. The extra photo is Jenners looking rather blue at the arrival of it's new neighbour.

I wonder if there was as much controversy about Jenners when it was built? You can see an artist's impression of what the finished building will look like here.
