This shows part of Jesus waterfall and lock area on the river Cam. It is No 1 on the navigable part of the river and built in 1836. The iron footbridge, which links Jesus Green to Chesterton Road, was erected in 1892 and repaired in 2014. The stretch of river downstream (to the left) is the lower river where the University rowers have their boat houses and practise for their events. The upper river is where punting takes place as it is not so deep. A very busy area usually but not today as it is overcast and raining a bit.
