today the job kept me indoors a little longer than i had planned and it was quite dark by the time i left the office -but not too dark for a trip to the top of one of those oft-ignored yet highly essential components of urban infrastructure, a public parking garage. i'm not a motorist anymore, having sold my car recently, so i find myself inside these most utilitarian of structures less and less. occasionally these things offer up pleasant views, certainly worth a short elevator ride.
