Wandering with Camera

The Beginning

As I think about my retirement on 29 Feb 2016 I have gone back and taken a picture of the Electronic Stores in Venables Building. It is where my OU journey started in 1986

This was when I took over the stories from my dad who was retiring himself then. He had been at the OU since about 1978.

It has been an interesting journey. From Electronic store man / buyer to Project Officer.

Buying parts for electronic projects in Technology, to Malware expert for the faculty and talking all over Europe and North America at Virus Bulletin Conferences and other security events & ending up as IT specialist support for MCT.

Main Author on a short course on Malware called "Vandalism in Cyberspace "

AL for T171 and T175. Summer school Tutor and actively creator for T302 at Bath Summer School.

Listed as Author, advisor, researcher, and critical reader for T215 - Communications and Information Technologies.

Involvement and co-chair for the Photographic short course T189 - now TG089

Become involved with T216 Cisco course and pushed through by Andrew Smith to get my Cisco Instructor qualification.

And fitted in a Bsc(open) between 1989 and 1996

All could not have been done with out the encouragement of Family, friends and colleagues at the OU - Big Thanks

Involved with the OU Club, Disco Club, Chess Club, Gardening Club and Camera Club at the OU too

So with my two sisters (both retired) and my dad there has been a Phillips at the OU for around 38 years!!!

Just over a month left before the next BIG adventure starts.
