THiMun really gets going

Den Haag 2016 #3: The Hague Model United Nations Conference

First full day of debate, Robin and I spent the day visiting the General Assembly and various committees to observe and support our kids - several of whom are giving opening speeches (pictured) and/or are the main submitters of resolutions and therefore give the opening address as their committee begins to debate.  Already I am very impressed at their poise and self confidence when speaking to a large audience, especially as they are doing so in English, not Turkish of course. Bravo!

The Hague Model United Nations (THiMUN) conference 2016 has more than three thousand High School student delegates from all over the world, representing the various member countries and groups of the real UN, participating in different committees, councils and special comissions

Weather is horrid.  Rain and very, very blustery gusting winds.  I am really rather tired now.   Apologies, I am not checking and commenting on blippers' journals these last few days - so hard when you are responsible for twenty four teenagers 24/7 to find time to do anything much except thankfully go to sleep once their hotel rooms are quiet......
