And some more bokeh. It was another grey day, but the sun filtered feebly through the clouds in the afternoon.

This evening, in total contrast to my blip, we went to the Cine Club to see the Chinese film Black Coal, a film-noir-style thriller. It had a lot of the film noir tropes including a completely incomprehensible plot, a cynical ex-cop, random body parts, and a femme fatale. I can't say I liked it personally, but I could recognise that it was well done (it won the Golden Bear in Berlin). The ambience of run-down, polluted urban China was grim -- it certainly wasn't a pretty or cheerful film! I'd had a grumpy sort of day, so I'd have preferred something a bit lighter.
