Devonport

A popular resort and suburb for Auckland, where the rich can play and commute to work on the convenient, fast and frequent ferries. A few tourists make the trip across the Bay and get to mingle with the wealthy workers and retired Kiwis who have made this their home. We took the tandem (bikes go free on the ferries) and used it to cycle up the hill at North Head after a leisurely coffee at the waterfront. We are now experts on the military history of Devonport as the free museum we found on the hill offered respite from the heat and sunshine. Cool as.
