Character

Recovered from 4 hours of social media training yesterday, and spent a lot of today trying to mark up landscape character areas, for an area in England. As most of my work is in Scotland, and not within the more settled Central Belt, often when I look at maps of places in England, it makes me all discombobulated. It's just the comparative density of settlement patterns, I find it hard to see what the distinctions are in topography and landuse. I can't see the wood for the trees, I can't see the landscape for the houses.
