Mt Cook

If you have been following Yedas blip you might be aware the Arscott family have our kids for the weekend ... Umm, am I allowed to say - "we're free"!

Well I did, and we were, so at 3.30pm we threw camping and tramping gear at the car, like we used to (pre-kids - PK), and set off at 4pm hoping we hadn't forgotten too much.

First stop was Lake Tekapo for hamburgers and chips on the lake front. Idyllic, I would have blipped the snowy mountains, blue lake, lupines etc, but, then we passed Mt Cook in lovely light. And it won. Although the powerline blips were close.

Our destination was the Ahururiri Valley, a relatively new conservation park and a place neither of us had ever been. We arrived around 8.15, setup camp, broke out the wine, and marvelled at the view.

Wow, what a place!
