My Icelandic Livingroom

A friend suggested checking out Seoul's "Icelandic" bar this evening.

It's a curious place: hidden down a side street, with a corrugated iron exterior painted in Ikea blue, it actually doesn't look too dissimilar to places I've seen in Reykjavik, but very different to other buildings in Korea.

Inside, it's part bar/café - with a plethora of Icelandic themed decorations and a selection of Iceland inspired menu items - and part tourist information centre, with a corner full of useful resources to plan your forthcoming trip. I imagine it doubles up as the Icelandic Embassy too...

It was an oddly familiar feeling eating skyr, drinking beer and watching a projection of glaciers and volcanoes "outside" on the bar wall as Sigur Rós plays in the background.

Skál!
