" DRINK UP YE CIDER "

As it rained all day yesterday, we were glad to get out this afternoon and Matthew wanted to walk around the village.

This is one of pubs called The Old Albion Inn and we have been frequenting it since 1963 when we enjoyed our first holiday here.

This is what Google says of our village:-

Crantock (Cornish: Lanngorrow) is a coastal civil parish and a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is approximately two miles (3 km) southwest of Newquay.
Crantock dates back to 460 AD when a group of Irish hermits founded an oratory there. The village lies to the south of the River Gannel which forms a natural boundary between the parishes of Newquay and Crantock. The River Gannel is tidal and ferries operate on a seasonal basis from Fern Pit to Crantock Beach. The River Gannel runs along Crantock Beach and joins the Atlantic Ocean. The village can be reached from the A3075 road via the junction at Trevemper.

Sadly the population has been diminishing for a number of years as more and more of the properties get bought up by a holiday company.  This makes it difficult for the rest of us to keep it running effectively.

We did walk down to the beach but it was very cold and uncharitable so after walking across Rushey Green we were glad to get back into the warm.

Thank you for the kind comments on my recent work and I'm still waiting to hear how it has been received.

Enjoy the weekend everyone, whatever the weather. xxxx
