Signs (30) - Firman Close

A week since first noticing a street sign with a graphic of the Victoria Cross I've come upon another when taking a slight detour round the high street. This Wikipedia entry gives details of the events leading to the death of Humphrey Firman and the subsequent award of this country's highest medal for valour. The entry mentions the addition of a plaque on the town war memorial - I had often noticed this but had been too lazy to find out the significance of it.
