Fish for dinner tonight?

Beautiful weather today! The day has been used work like fixing the doorlock, checking the boat for snow and water, carrying away Christmas stuff etc. Can somebody tell me what this kind of work is called in english? I can't find it in the dictionary. I mean some how dull work which has to be done.
