Pauanui and the Bay of Plenty

Our final day in the Coromandel so we walked up a hill for a clear view of where we had been.  The Papanui Trig Track wound it's way steeply up 1300 feet(ish) through the bush. No cafe at the top but a superb  view of the resort with its carefully thought out floor plan and views over the Bay. We avoided the goat track (as advised ) back to the Cave track along the coast to the car. All very hot and sweaty but pleased to have put in another training exercise before next weekend"s big walk.
The car journey back was slow as Aucklanders made their way home at the end of the holiday weekend and the school summer holidays. 
Fresh fruit and veg was purchased and on arriving home team Callaghan/Easton swung into chopping action and we ate a delicious low cal salad on the balcony. 
A wee bit of Matt Damon before bed rounded off a great day in yet another superb weekend.
