The light after the storm

It was exceptionally wild overnight, it was sad to wake to more ancient trees brought down round the village.
I'm heading back to Cairngorm today, just as Henry arrives - but as his trailing edge left Cumbria the air quality and light, as is often the case after a storm, was amazing - sadly I had little time for much except a quick walk with pooch around the village - but as ever it made me thankful that we live in such a beautiful place - this is the wildlife area in the middle of the couple of acre greenspace that lies at the heart of Orton Village. I've seen many a village with a green - but never one built around an open space like this, some donated by Petty Hall & someancient Manor Court land.
