Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing in the alps is quite different to Scandinavia. This slope is fairly gentle and we are on a long traverse before a swift plummet back down the hill to the valley floor.

The rain stripped most of the snow off the southern slopes and out of the valleys, but there is still plenty up here. Not much fun for walkers as it is either slippery or you sink a foot into the soft. But snowshoes were just the thing.
