When statues go bad

The small boy stumbling to pick up his vodka bottle while his one-armed mother still manages to balance a large water jug on her shoulder.

Considering the vast sums that have been spent on gentrifying Kingston market it seems a shame that the Shrubsole memorial statue has been allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair. Just a few short years ago it looked like this.

(This was originally going to be a long shot of two ladies having a bit of a pie-fest at the foot of the statue but I decided that wasn't really fair)
