Old school ruler

I write a lot for my job, and spend many hours each day on my laptop. However, I often find that to get started I need to resort to writing long hand with pen on paper. It seems to be the only way sometimes to get my creative juices flowing. I like a diagram too, and before grappling with producing a table in Word, I find it really helps to draw by hand first. For this, there's something very satisfying about using a ruler to produce a straight line - I acquired this traditional style wooden twelve incher recently, which even has a piece of metal embedded into the edge for an even sharper line. As you might gather, it doesn't take much to make me happy!
