Backlit Basil

The sun shone today. It shone through the kitchen window and lit up this basil growing in a pot on the windowsill.

It also highlighted the dirt on my windows! I've tried to conceal that by highlighting the plant.

I bought it at a supermarket a month or so back, for making tomato and basil soup. I used about half and then stuck the pot on the windowsill where it promptly decided to shrivel and die.

Except for this and another stem which have erupted, like a phoenix, from the pot. Better make some more soup.
