Shakespeare Rides the Metro

I was tickled to see this bag in the subway today--Shakespeare and Company is a venerable English-language bookstore opposite Notre Dame in Paris, which my cousin Rosy Lamb has been closely connected with, in particular mounting an installation at Paris's Hôtel de Ville in 2008 in connection with a literary festival held by the store; here you can see a pair of Rosy's sculptured portraits displayed there.  C-Span did a video tour of the bookstore in 2002.  I've marked the bookstore on the map, which actually names it.

We were on our way to an excellent exhibition at the Marmotton Museum on the western outskirts of Paris, with loans from the Villa Flora in Winterthur, Switzerland; we most appreciated rarely seen Swiss artists such as Félix Vallotton (1865-1925) and Ferdinand Hodler  (1853-1918).
