Sliding With the Old Man

A busy day, Mimi was singing in the Festival again this afternoon so I took a half day to go and watch and support her.  She was fabulous and finished fourth in a class of ten not bad for the unilaterally deaf kid!!!

Straight to hockey, tonight though before training a sponsored skate,  20 laps of the ice in aid of a former hockey player with the club who has cystic fibrosis to help raise £8000 for a compression vest to help prolong his life.  Dad was on the ice too keeping the guys moving along and stopping any bunching etc. It was a rare chance these days to share the ice with my guys, and a rarer chance to get a quick picture.

Here we are leaning on the pipes, 20 laps doesn't sound much but its a mile and a half in total and Mimi did it in her full kit more power to her. Fraser and Kyle went off like rockets and finished two full laps ahead of the next fastest skaters I am glad I wasn't in that race!!!
