wings, wands and wishes

Another hectic week...

A visit from our social worker on Monday for a bit of a chat and a catch up before the big court date...  this could technically be our last meeting (although fortunately she's lovely and remains available to us for the next three years,  so I think we'll still be catching up from time to time)...
Then Dave came home from his trip to see his dad...  always good to have Dave back :-)

Tuesday: Playgroup for the second time... This time I popped to the shop for about 15 minutes to see how she'd get on alone, but little un got a bit upset...  so we're going to keep trying a gently gently approach...

Wednesday: music class,  singing and dancing and a visit to the crumblies

Thursday: a day at home... a dress down day(PJs) ... then a warm clothes day (we went to the park.)... then a dress up day as the witches and faerie costumes came out

Friday:  Toddler group,  followed by a trip (with Granny Annie)  to Ikea to search for an extra bed... we're planning to add a single bed to our double to make one giant continuous sleeping platform so that we can all be comfortable kipping together, whist still having personal space... I think I have found a suitable bed of the right height as we have to get the mattresses lined up together...

Other thoughts on progress...
Language and sentences increasing further

Both of us have had colds so we've been tired and sometimes overtired this week (aka cranky as hell!)

Little un is going through a hitting stage... everyday at 4pm I get walloped (this is when she's absolutely whacked as she's now stopped having daytime naps, so it seems to happen when she's too tired to process emotions and information anymore)

She's become much more aware of what the words Mummy and Daddy mean... Initially Mummy was just a noun, like door, or plate, or random guardian type figure... But in recent weeks she's been saying mummy with conviction ...usually at the point when something needs to be fixed, kissed, provided or consoled... In other words I'm a real mummy and not a pretend one anymore... this became very apparent to me on Tuesday at playgroup...  so, I'm going to be working hard to make sure she feels secure at all times, but I can't help but be pleased to know that she is definitely attached to me, and I'm not interchangeable with other people..

All in all the weekend has come around really fast... time seems to be speeding up,  and it all feels very precious at the moment.
