Wild Flowers.

There was a series of three programmes on BBC television in March this year called Villages, Farms and Countryside. It was presented by Sarah Raven who professed to be on a mission to halt the rapid decline in Britain's essential bees, butterflies and pollinating insects by bringing flower power to towns, cities and the countryside.

This resonated with V and me and we planted some wild flowers at the end of our garden. Actually I did the planting which entailed tipping the seeds out of the packets. So the one thing which we can thank the prevailing wet weather for is the fact that a number of the plants have now come into flower.

Here are some of them. We're still waiting for the bees and butterflies.
