Gift Horse

I spent a couple of days in London which included going to The Royal Academy's excellent exhibition  'Painting the Modern garden - Monet to Matisse."  Before going home I was in the Trafalgar Square area so went to see the Fourth Plinth Commission.  It was a bronze sculpture of the skeleton of a horse by Hans Haacke, based on an engraving in "The Anatomy of Horses" published in 1766 by Georges Stubbs, whose paintings are seen in the nearby National Gallery.
