Made in Hastings

We decided to go to Hastings. After locking ourselves out of the house with the car keys inside and Fran coming to our rescue, we caught the train and arrived to blue skies. We walked along the seafront towards the Old Town and The Stade where we ate our lunch looking out to sea. It was so warm, I could have curled up and slept. Rowan was stalked by a hungry looking seagull and Grandmere rolled up her trousers to catch some sun.

We took the funicular to the top of the hill (not for the faint hearted) and enjoyed the views before walking down into the Old Town for a wander. This was taken in one of the shops there. It's a shop I have wanted to visit for a while and I liked the feel of it inside. Everything beautifully presented, but extremely welcoming. It's manned and stocked by local crafts people. A small community who support and encourage each other.

Finally the obligatory ice creams before catching the train home. We played Uno on the journey back and Grandmere (who swears she has never played before) whupped us!
