Happy Birthday!

Yesterday I went to H's house near Ludlow for a lovely birthday meal. Here she is blowing out her candles.

The rain was terrible, bouncing off the surfaces and causing flooded roads and fields that looked like lakes. Not a day for a walk!

Thanks for the ideas on Friday's mystery object. It was a 19th century carpenter's grooving plane made from mahogany, steel and brass. F is going to clean it up but not remove the patina of years of use.
