Roman ruin

I ran a hilly ten mile and a half miles this morning as part of my training for the Berkhamsted and North London half marathons in March. On one of the downhill stretches, into Verulamium Park, I took a good look at the remains of the Roman wall. It was constructed between AD 265 and 270 to protect the Roman city of Verulamium and when built stood at five metres high. It's since crumbled considerably but is still impressive.
