Vintage violence

I have taken several snaps of this statue, but they always suffer from having Westminster Abbey in the background. This time I caught the back of it from the gateway to Dean's Yard.

The blurb on the net says: A polished red granite pillar, surmounted by a statue of Victory, erected to the memory of those educated at Westminster School who fell in the Russian and Indian wars, 1854-59.

I went for a walk around Dean's Yard and the very quiet streets through the other (east?) gate. It's amazing how few people there are in this "hidden" bit of London.
