Cape Town visit

Alison and I took the train into Cape Town today and hopped on the open-topped tourist bus, which was the best way to see the city with limited time.

Obviously, the magnificent sight of the iconic Table Mountain, blipped from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, is the main blip, and in the added extras are:

~ the view of Cape Town from the cable-car station up to Table Mountain;

~ Nobel Square on the Waterfront featuring bronze statues of four South African winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, namely Albert Luthuli, Desmond Tutu, F W de Klerk and Nelson Mandela;

~ the little train that gives rides round the Waterfront; and

~ our 'first class' train carriage. Admittedly the return fare for the one-hour journey each way was little more than £1, but we were rather shocked at the state of the carriage!
