South Coast Scribblings

Golden end to a stormy day

We didn't get much rain at all today, but the wind was pretty ferocious from Storm Imogen. Apparently there were huge waves off shore (probably more in the West Country) that were equivalent to the height of three double decker buses, according to Sky News. The scariest part here was late yesterday evening when there was a terrific hailstorm and the wind was absolutely howling. Our son had gone on up to bed and came downstairs to say that his whole room had shaken with the force of the wind. We have a chalet type wooden box construction on top of the brick walls upstairs, and Stuart thought it was probably that which had caused the vibration. I was glad I was still downstairs at the time! I really don't want to live in another house of this type.
