Alphabet

There is a set of animal alphabet cards hanging above Sebastien's crib. Months ago, Rick started reading through the cards to help calm Sebbie down before he went to sleep some nights. Then it became part of the regular bedtime routine and Sebastien insists we go through them every night.

Well, somehow all of that has stuck in his brain, because now he not only can point to most of the  cards based on the animal or the alphabet sound, but when we read books in his room and he comes across a large letter (often at the beginning of a sentence), he points to the letter and then toward the card on the wall that represents it. And he says the animal name (or the sound the animal makes). Oh, and when you sing him the alphabet song, he can make the sounds of most of the letters as he sings along.

He's also intently fascinated in his books by the numeral representations of numbers and seems to be learning those as well.

Amazing how their little brains work! If we could only learn things so easily at our age...
