Manchesters' Old and New

This morning broke with some brightness and the odd burst of sunshine.

We had to travel into Manchester for my dental check up, so decided to go in earlier as hub needed new trousers for his dinner suit, they always seem to wear out before the jacket......he will need them for our cruise in May :-) I also got a couple of new jumpers too, as it's likely to be chilly in Norway in May I should think.

I had planned and did, take some photos of the lanterns that have been put up around the city for Chinese New Year, these amongst several others of course ;-)

In the end both hub and I settled on this shot, as we quite liked the stark comparison between the old Great North Western warehouse and the new ultra modern apartment block.

Good news from th dentist, nothing needed, back in six months. Also youngest son has had some positive news today when he saw his consultant again. His pressure has come right down, no immediate operation required. His vision is still blurred but they think that is due to the big spikes in pressure, and that it should settle down given time.

It's just started raining here having been a nice bright day, although quite cold. Give me a day like today over the rain anytime though :-)
