Getting the sparkle back

St Andrew's and St George's West Church

This is a lovely Georgian Church of Scotland church on George Street in the centre of Edinburgh. The name may seem odd as it's at the East End of the (Georgian) New Town. It has come about as a result of the merger of several parishes, including that of St George's West on Shandwick Place, at the West End of the New Town.

I was glad to find it open today, but wished I'd had a slightly wider lens. It is worth noting that today was sunny almost all day. What a relief to know that the sun can still shine when it tries. Doesn't look like it can do it two days in a row, though. In fact, the forecast is for no more sun until next Sunday when it will make a brief appearance. Next Monday is billed as sun all day, though. I will believe it when it happens.
