The remains of Horncliffe Healing Well

Unfortunately, the former stone basin and conduit of this well were a casualty of Yorkshire Water, and although this is a spring in approximately the right place, the reputed flow has also diminished according to reports. The extras show a large boundary stone bearing the name of the well and the above spring is shown behind the boulder to the left in a sunken soggy depression.  The second photo shows an ancient double elliptical stone circle not far away from the well, (highlighted by an arrow).
A grand morning on the moors!
