..and again..

..I'm doing some pretty messy work just now. The croft is soaking, there's mud everywhere, but the work is progressing.. Not taking my camera down in those conditions..

This was taken during my lunch break, and shortly befor, there was a lovely shadow of Arkle on Foinaven.. Missed it, but you can just see a bit if you look hard!..

Four trailer loads of stone today, and a bit of wall building.
Got some more seeds in the post today, some Yakon tubers, and some Chinese Yam bulbils. These smell like cinnamon when they flower, and will produce a tuber approaching 3 feet long in 3 or 4 years time.. Yakon is another tuberous plant, the swollen root tasting something like a sweet pear crossed with apple. Best eaten raw with salads, but can be roasted or steamed, retaining it's crisp texture. The tubers contain a form of sugar called innulin. This is indigestible by humans, so can be used for both dieting and for those with diabetes. It's an interesting plant, a member of the sunflower family. I've planted up 32 root tubers in 4" pots for now, to be planted out as soon as the frosts go..

Just had a slice of Xmas cake, we've still got half left (LSA!)..
