Waiting for the ferry

The day's work finished, I headed off for the ferry and home. At the port, this Guillemot was enjoying the swell. Still in winter plumage, Slightly unusual in winter, they are a relatively common breeder in the islands. Not quite as dapper as the Black Guillemot, it is however always good to see one so close to, rather than the little black dot hurtling past just above the waves.
An interesting day in the school and I look forward to going back for more over the next few weeks.
