Deceit of Lapwings

You learn something every day. I didn't know the collective noun for a large quantity of Lapwings until this evening. After seeing hundreds in the air whilst out with the dogs, I had to research it.

Another word is a desert of Lapwings. As a child, we referred to them as Peewits because of the sounds that they make but this is not a word I've heard since.

I'm not sure if you can make them out in this image, as they look more like flying insects.
