Splish Splash... An Ibis Taking a Bath

We went to Tybee Island in Georgia early on Thursday morning. On the road to Tybee (between a trailer park and the main highway),  there was an inlet filled with Egrets, Pelicans, and Ibis.

Most of the birds moved away as I approached the inlet.  But this Ibis stayed put and was determined to finish his daily grooming activities.

I got a couple of dozen shots and then we went to see the lighthouse and from there to  Jacksonville, FL to visit my twin sister.  We will be heading to St. Augustine on Friday and are planning on visiting the Alligator farm.

See today's extras for another shot of the same Ibis and of the lighthouse at Tybee Island and another lighthouse up the road (Cockspur lighthouse).
