Sidney Sussex College, Faculty Of Divinity.

The Lady Frances Sidney Sussex founded this Cambridge college in 1596 as an avowedly Protestant foundation for...."some good and godlie moniment for the mainteynance of good learninge"....The college was built on the site of a former Franciscan Friary that was dissolved during the Protestant Reformation. This is Cloister Court which lies above the Friary's graveyard. Oliver Cromwell was one of the first students although he didn't graduate due to his father's illness. Cromwell's head is buried beneath the college's Ante-Chapel. This college is also in the city centre and so I will visit some other areas in there.
