A picture of fur...not just any fur

This is one of several calico polka dot markings on our cat, Smudge.

Four years ago today, our dog Casey discovered her under our porch, huddled against the basement wall in an attempt to stay warm. She was feral and despite feeding her and trying to live-trap her, she lived there for a month before we finally caught her and brought her in.

It has taken all this time to win her trust completely and we both have had wicked scratches and bite wounds as proof of our efforts to convince her.

She is 90% white with random black, tabby and ginger markings...a little patchwork quilt of all the cats I've had and loved.

Snuggly but with wildness still just below her fur...happy anniversary little wild one.
