Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Bad boy!

And does he look bovvered? No.

Late yesterday afternoon, JR took Archie for a walk in the Meadows, as normal. And what did he do? Something he has never ever done before...

He ran off! Towards the road!!!

Took not a blind bit of notice as JR frantically called him. He disappeared between cars in the increasing darkness. JR was unable to see him, but called him for ages. Eventually a man waved to her and shouted, 'There's a wee dog here looking lost!' Then he ran (Archie, not the man) across the road to her. Luckily there was no car coming!! Bad boy.

This makes us nervous of dog walkers letting him off of the lead, as they always do. Now he's done it once, and experienced the thrill, he could do it again at any time...

I took him up the Hill this morning, where he had his normal sensible running around, but not too far. And then, up near the top (took me a loooong time to get there) it started sleeting. We were very cold and wet when we got home.

JR is developing a bit of a cold, so she stayed in bed all day. Hope it doesn't come to much - it's the holidays! She has read a book (about Egypt), played Solitaire and researched our next holiday, so the day was fruitful.

Bailey has had a restful day, and seems to be a lot better.

I won't mention the rugby.
