Anyone for tea?

The WI visited Grayshott Pottery, a studio pottery on the Surrey/Hampshire border. There were lots of photo opportunities. Which to choose? There was a very colourful gift shop but you can see those anywhere. There were high stacks of plates and dishes, ready to be fired before being sent off to Jamie Oliver for his restaurants (they hand make 50,000 plates a year for the catering trade). I could have sent you a picture of a designer plate, selling for a small fortune. Or I could have blipped WI members enjoying lunch in the cafe.

I settled on a picture of the making of a teapot. We watched, fascinated, as she made a hole in the side of the teapot body before attaching the spout and then bent the handle to the correct shape before attaching it, exactly opposite the spout. She was very competent, even though she was a trainee!
